Promise Hill Project donated men’s jeans, underwear and shoes to the Northern Kentucky Emergency Shelter, through our Personal Care Program. This shelter houses 70% men and 30% women. Their winter program in 2017 served 589 people in need.
Promise Hill Project donated shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and deodorant to the food and clothing pantry at the Mount Sterling Community Center, through our Personal Care Program.
As part of our Basic Needs Program, Promise Hill carried out community feeding + economic household sustainability programs in Majengo + Kanamai Villages
In September, dedicated volunteers served 40 families, reaching approximately 250 people with food and supplies.
Volunteers taught women and children how to start small sack kitchen gardens from papaya, amaranth and tomato seedlings, thereby providing a ready source of vegetables available at home, even when they lack money and/or employment.
Hand sanitizer and masks were distributed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

Fighting period poverty one step at a time through our Basic Needs Program!
Promise Hill provided period products to young girls in need at Shammah School in Ruai- Nairobi, Kenya.
OUR TIMING WAS PERFECT! The School Director noted that they had ZERO period products in house.
Promise Hill visited and provided them with just what they needed.
These young girls in need were genuinely happy and grateful.

When Promise Hill and a very special private donor funded the purchase of a Singer Sewing Machine for students at the Great Genius School last fall, the intent was that is was to be used to sew student uniforms and to teach sewing skills that could lead to lifelong professions. Since the onset of the global pandemic, it is now being used to sew masks in order to protect Kenyans from COVID -19.
At Promise Hill, we wish that all people across the globe engage in social distancing and incorporate proper face coverings into your every day lives, so that we all may stay safe and healthy đź’š

As part of our Basic Needs Program, Promise Hill provided sanitary pads to approximately 60 girls in need at The Great Genius School. We are grateful to those who contributed to our period products collection in America! Without access to proper sanitary products, girls in Kenya are forced to stay home from school, and they miss out on education. Your generous contributions keep young girls in school, while building their self-esteem.

As part of our Basic Needs Program, Promise Hill provided one months supply of sanitary pads to 58 women and girls in the Kibera Slums. We are so thankful to our sponsor, Sunshine Prosthetics and Orthotics, to one private donor, and to those who contributed to our period products collection! You all made this project happen!
The Kibera Slums is known to be among the largest urban slums in Africa. It holds approximately 700,000-1,000,000 people, who earn less than $1.00 per day. Clean water is scarce, and disease related to poor hygiene is prevalent..
As part of our Basic Needs and Medical Care Programs, Promise Hill provided food, vitamins, sanitary pads and clothing to Openhands Children’s Home-which houses 12 teens, 10 adults and 4 children. We are so thankful to a private donor for the food and vitamins, a second private donor for the clothing, and to those who contributed to our period products collection! You all made this project happen.
As part of our Basic Needs Program, Promise Hill provided 10 new mattresses for baby cribs at Openhands Children’s Home in Kitengala, Kenya. We are extremely grateful to the private donor who generously gifted the funds to make this happen. Because of this particular individual, the babies at Openhands will now sleep soundly and comfortably throughout each night.
