In a world where large organizations often dominate the spotlight, it’s easy to assume that meaningful change requires vast budgets and full-time teams. But at Promise Hill Project, we prove that compassion, dedication, and integrity can go much further than numbers ever could.

With no paid staff, no physical office, and no overhead, our all-volunteer nonprofit has reached thousands of individuals across the United States, Kenya, and India, restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity where it’s needed most.

The Power of a Volunteer-Led Mission

Promise Hill Project is powered entirely by volunteers who give their time, skills, and hearts to make a difference. Each member of the team holds a full-time job outside the organization. Yet, we find time, after work, on weekends, and between life’s many responsibilities, to carry out life-changing outreach.

There are no salaries, no administrative buildings, and no luxury budgets. What we do have is a deep, unwavering belief: that every person deserves access to the basic necessities of life, regardless of where they live or what challenges they face.

Our volunteer-driven structure allows us to channel nearly every dollar donated directly to the people we serve, ensuring the greatest possible impact with the smallest possible footprint.

Serving Individuals Experiencing Homelessness

While we support underserved families, much of our outreach focuses on individuals in homeless as well as struggling housed communities.

In America, we serve in Texas (Dallas and surrounding areas), Ohio (Mt. Sterling and Columbus), and Navajo Nation, New Mexico. Our work extends to those who are unhoused, living outdoors in tents or under bridges, as well as to those who are housed but still face daily hardships. Many of the families we assist are housed, but they often lack access to running water, electricity, or a reliable income, living paycheck to paycheck.

For those receiving help, a simple act of kindness can mean everything. A warm meal. A clean hygiene kit. A conversation filled with empathy.

We believe that even small gestures have a ripple effect. It brings care and consistency to communities where instability is constant, and it is all done without expectation of recognition or reward.

Three Programs, One Purpose

Promise Hill Project’s impact spans continents through three powerful initiatives that address both immediate needs and long-term empowerment.

1. Basic Needs Program

At the foundation of every strong community is access to food, clean water, and essential resources. Through the Basic Needs Program, we provide nutritious meals, drinking water, menstrual hygiene products, and essentials to individuals living in poverty or without a home.

  • In the United States, this means outreach events for the homeless as well as struggling housed communities, distributing hot meals, water, and period hygiene essentials.
  • In Kenya, it means supporting families and children’s homes with food deliveries, women’s empowerment, period product distribution, and more.
  • In India, Promise Hill has led efforts to provide clean drinking water to rural villages where safe access is scarce.

Every effort under this program reinforces the belief that no one should be left behind in the fight against hunger and poverty.

2. Personal Care Program

Dignity is a basic human right, and our Personal Care Program ensures that every individual has access to personal hygiene essentials.

Through our program, we distribute hygiene kits to individuals living in poverty or experiencing homelessness. These kits do more than meet physical needs; they empower individuals to attend work, school, and engage in daily life with confidence.

3. Tools for Technology Program

Education opens doors, and technology is the key to unlocking them. Through the Tools for Technology Program, we help bridge the educational divide by providing students with access to digital tools that support learning.

Global Reach, Local Roots

Though Promise Hill Project operates globally, our approach remains deeply personal. From the streets of Dallas to remote villages in Kenya and India, our volunteers build relationships, listen to community needs, and adapt their outreach accordingly.

Each project, whether distributing meals, installing water systems, or providing hygiene kits, is rooted in compassion and consistency. Our team may be small, but our impact continues to expand because we show up, time after time, living up to the name “Promise Hill.”

Our founder, Lisa Arbogast, created Promise Hill Project out of a deep commitment to keep her word to those in need. What began as a single promise to return with help has now evolved into a global effort that has impacted thousands of lives.

How You Can Help

Promise Hill Project thrives because of people who care: volunteers, donors, and advocates who believe in the mission.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Donate: Every dollar goes directly toward meals, hygiene kits, and educational tools.
  • Volunteer: Help organize outreach events or support the mission remotely.
  • Share the story: Awareness inspires action. By sharing the work we do at the Promise Hill Project with others, you extend the reach of its impact.

Together, these small acts of kindness sustain programs that make life-changing differences every single day.

Proof That Small Can Be Mighty

Promise Hill Project is living proof that you don’t need a big team to create big change. What matters most is heart, purpose, and the willingness to act.

The team’s commitment, working after hours and giving without expectation, reminds us all that hope doesn’t come from wealth or status. It comes from people showing up, again and again, with love and integrity.

Even without staff or a physical location, Promise Hill Project continues to serve the needy, reminding us that true impact comes not from size, but from sincerity.

You can do your bit and support us in breaking the cycle of poverty.
